Hera is the queen of the Greek gods and is the goddess of marriage and family. Even though she is the goddess of marriage she has a troubled relationship with her husband Zeus. She has three brother (Zeus, Posioden and Hades) and two sister (Demeter and Hestia). She is the mother of Eilithyia, Ares, Hebe and Hephaestus. Hera's symbol was the diadem, the scepter and the pomegranate, a symbol of fertility. Her sacred animals are the peacock and the cow. Her flower is the lily.

The people in ancient Athens built the Parthenon in her honour. Her symbols were the distaff, spear and the aegis. Athena's sacred animals was the owl the symbol of wisdom and her tree was the olive tree.
